Purpose of Newcomers
Newcomers of North Columbus (NNC) is a non-profit social organization established for the purpose of providing support and friendship to women who have recently relocated to the Greater Columbus area or have recently experienced a life-changing transition.
We find that the specific tasks and challenges in establishing ourselves after moving are ones that are best understood and answered by others who have recently experienced the same process.
By offering information, support, and socialization, Newcomers facilitates your assimilation into your new home, and enables you to establish an efficient and enjoyable transition for you and your family.
Nineteen women met in January 1982 and organized NNC, which now has a continually growing membership. This growth is through the support and friendship of new residents of the Columbus area.
NNC encourages members to participate in various interest groups. We have a host of exciting activities ranging from monthly meetings, activity groups, tours, book clubs, theater, and more. These fun activities are available to all NNC members! If you would like to join us, contact either one of our NNC Co-Presidents: Susan Thomason at firstname.lastname@example.org (phone–614-824-5701) or Dottie Chesebrough at email@example.com (phone–614-486-4952); or email Janis Goosmann (NNC Membership) at firstname.lastname@example.org.
